Description
It is a requirement of the Health & Safety law that employers should provide a safe and healthy environment fot their employees. If your assessment of First Aid needs highlights a requirement for qualified First Aiders, then this course will provide you with suitable, highly trained personnel.
This comprehensive three-day course covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with an emergency situation with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way.
The course will give the participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
Duration
A minimum of 24 hours spread over at least 3 days.
Syllabus
A range of subjects is covered including:-
- Legalities, responsibilities and reporting
- Dealing with an unconscious casualty
- Heart Attacks
- Bandaging
- Eye injuries
- Choking
- Fractures
- Sprains
- Assessment of the situation
- Resuscitation
- Poisoning
- Burns
- Strains
- Control of bleeding
- Head injuries
- Shock
If your organisation has a specific area of training that is not included, or you require a more in-depth session, then we can accommodate you by providing additional training in that particular subject.
Certification
Subject to assessment, all participants will be issued a First Aid at Work certificate (and wallet card) approved by the Health and Safety Executive.
This qualification is valid for 3 years which can be re-newed by attending a suitable two-day requalification course.
Numbers
Courses are run for at least 10 students, up to a maximum of 12. If you do not have the required 10 people, there may be a delay until the extra places are filled. Each participant must be aged at least 16 years.
Location
We are also able to deliver this course on your site, subject to a pre-course assessment of your premises, reducing your costs in respect of additional time out and travelling.
